- Play and Performance in Civic Space
- Reframing Learning and Mobile
- Play and real-world social change
Users can create missions using the web based Mission Designer and players can play user-generated GPS missions using the iPhone player app. Missions encompass everything from scavenger hunts, crime stories, city tours, to time travels.
Similarly to Playground Maker and SCVNGR, this is a platform or toolset for real world/locative/pervasive game creation. While the vast majority of the games currently available are for fun and entertainment purposes, it is possible to speculate on future civics, environmental and activist centric experiences. One notable learning game is a US state capitals “interactive GPS tour. If you complete one of these walks, you can get a virtual badge with the state seal as a trophy! Take a trip and enjoy the interesting sites in an educative GPS game.”
